The first story stays with me to this day--a succinct and beautiful read and a great way to introduce Kyra to the public. She's got a great book out, too! A Cure For Nel, and Other Stories by Kyra Halland is a collection of three short fantasies. It is creative and well written. The collection also includes excerpts from some of Halland's books. She appears to have an ability to create unique worlds in the space of a few words.
This book contains three very creative and unusual fantasy stories by the author of the brilliant high fantasy novel Urdaisunia. This is a very polished and well-crafted trio of tales. These stories really make you think. My only complaint is I would have liked more of them! I will definitely read more by this author when I am next in the mood for a high fantasy read. Highly recommended!
